Injuries
There's still no word on whether WR Bosco Williams is back into playing shape, so it looks like he'll be out for a second week. FS Griff Yancey bruised his clavicle last week at Maryland and it doesn't look like he'll be playing this week. I'd much rather get them fully healed and ready to go for our upcoming games than rush them onto the field.

I haven't heard of any major injuries for VMI.

What to watch
VMI runs a wishbone (triple-option) offensive attack that is very deceptive and will really test our young defense. They're main QB, Tim Maypray, is a player that transferred from playing WR/PR to getting most of the touches for their team and is very quick. They also have more of a passing QB that will be in on most plays as well. This is the same type of offense that Wofford uses. It really neutralizes our speed and also puts us at a disadvantage because of our team speed. Each of our defensive guys has to be assigned to one guy and stick with that guy or else they could bust a big play. The focus is to make sure to tackle that guy, and to watch anyone else. This will basically be one big tackling drill for us. Hopefully we will succeed.

Dudzik and Thorpe will again be trading reps throughout the game, so hopefully after they've had a week to look over how they did against Maryland. It should be a game where they can show their skills off against a team that won't be quite as big or fast as JMU. Our defensive line should be able to get some great pressure as well and should be able to stop some plays before they develop. Containment is the name of the game this week.

If you read what the line is for a game, you will see we are heavily favored. This should be a game where we want to focus on all the little things that make our team run smoothly. I would expect we'd start taking our starters out by the fourth quarter also (if not the third), so it will be a chance for the younger guys to get some experience. I hope we don't take them out too soon though, so we don't break any type of rhythm we're getting into. This is a game to enjoy the show and warm up those vocal chords. Remember, there's no sitting down at a football game and if there's yelling at the US Open (thank you Serena), you better be yelling at a football game.

A Few Notes
This will be the first game with Hillside (C4) being a donor lot. I'm interested to see where the students end up going and to see how full Hillside gets. Hopefully I will be able to break away from P-lot at some point to make the rounds and get some pics.

JACs are being scanned now on the way into the stadium. Again...ALERT...part-time students and recent alumni...you're probably not going to be able to sneak into the game anymore.

Tickets and parking passes are now being scanned (great for keeping track of things), so allow yourself a couple extra minutes to get into lots and the stadium. Reentry is still allowed as long as you get you let the attendants know on the way out so they can verify your ticket.
