JMU Head Football Coach, Mickey Matthews, has named Kyle Gillenwater, former linebackers coach, as the new Defensive Coordinator. He is filling in the vacated position of George Barlow who is now working at New Mexico. Kyle has said there won't be any major changes, because when you're perineally on the of the top defenses in the conference, you don't want to change too much. Coach Gillenwater has been with the Dukes since 1999 when Coach Matthews was first hired. He graduated from Bridgewater college and his wife graduated from JMU. I'm glad we're hiring from inside and going with a guy who has been around for awhile. It will also help because he knows our system and what our strengths and weaknesses are.
