2009 JMU Men's Basketball Recruits

Coach Brady has said several times that next year's class will be better than this year's freshmen were. This says quite a bit about how good they are looking because all 3 of this year's available freshmen have won at least one rookie of the week awards and have a good shot at making the conference all-rookie team. While the early signing period has already passed, the regular basketball signing period begins on April 15. Here are the possible guys becoming available next year. Underwood might not be coming, but nothing definite has been set.

6-9, 195 lbs; ESPN scouts grade: 75
ESPN (2007): Underwood has a long frame with extremely long arms. He's a quick athlete and has some bounce to his game. Clearly his strength is the shot-blocking department. Underwood has terrific timing on the defensive end and is a fairly decent rebounder, however, his offensive game (considerably raw in the post area) has a ways to go, but he does have a nice touch around the basket. In addition, he'll need to gain strength (got pushed around in the paint area at times) if he wants to garner some division one looks in the future.
