JMU Best Team In Virginia?

More reporting to come, but for now, enjoy this:

Fun Stats
  • JMU is only the second FCS team ever to beat a ranked FBS team
  • JMU hadn't won a game against an FBS team since 1990 with a win over Navy
  • This was Virginia Tech's second loss to an FCS team in its history (Richmond was the first, in 1985 - three years after UR moved down to the FCS level)
  • Virginia Tech hasn't started a season 0-2 since 1995
  • This ended a 32 game home non-conference win-streak for VT
  • Said streak began with a 47-0 win over JMU on September 4, 1999 (What goes around comes around)
  • JMU was paid $450,000 by Virginia Tech to play the game
  • Jamal Sullivan's 77-yard TD catch was the longest reception against Tech's defense since 2003
  • Virginia Tech was 7-1 on games after short weeks under Beamer (now 7-2)
  • The Hokies are now unranked for the first time since Nov. 30, 2008 (they garnered no points in this weeks AP poll)
  • JMU has 11 points in the week's AP Poll (USA Today Poll doesn't allow votes for FCS teams - yet)
  • JMU is now #33 in the Sagarin rankings of all Division I football teams
